About Me

I was a military brat born in Texas. Moving every four to five years a constant for me was being totally enamored with music. Around six years old I started playing the violin learning classical music primarily through middle school. In middle school I listened to rock and metal music; everything from Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd to Tool and Metallica. This music pushed me to learn guitar to emulate the sounds I couldn't get enough of. After freshmen year of high school, it was time to move again, taking me to Okinawa Japan. The school had no string program and a bare bones guitar program, so I joined the school's men’s choir. Halfway through the sophomore year the show choir held auditions and was lucky enough to be accepted. Through choir I gained a deep love of different music genres and styles but none more than jazz. The harmony, groove, and improvisation hooked me immediately and had Miles Davis Kind of Blue and Coltrane Giant Steps on constant loop on my Zune, yes I was one of those kids. While I still loved the violin, and guitar my soul yearned to learn trumpet so I could play jazz. I got my first trumpet as a graduation gift and slowly began to learn the trumpet through jazz. To this day I'm constantly on the lookout for opportunities to expand my musical knowledge either by a new musical style I'm not familiar with or a new musical instrument/sound I want to add to my palette. Writing and arranging music has been fun to me and love the commissions I've done so far as they push me to either learn new styles or adjust my musicianship to fit a vision besides my own. I also love videogames and the incredible OSTs of classics like Sonic The Hedgehog and modern hits like Clair Obscur.
